"To die completely, a person must not only forget but be forgotten, and he who is not forgotten is not dead". My Dad was a humanist and as such accepted the fact that life ends with death. Some people find this scary or harsh but anyone who knew dad will know how important humanism was to him. Humans are part of nature, not separate from it, and our lives would not be better for believing in another life to come. Dad was able to contemplate and discover these things in a way that not many people can and I am so incredibly proud to be able to say I am Peter's daughter, that I carry him with me in every moment. There is great comfort in knowing Dad is a part of us and I will proudly carry his legacy forward in the human story- just as the people coming after us will do, and as Dad knew we would.
